LAST OF THE WILD BUFFALO
(feature length film)
STATUS: in progress– pre-production, principal photography expected in early 2025
ROLE: director | writer | actor
When adapting Last of the Wild Buffalo from a stage play to a screenplay, it was important to me that it wasn’t a simple copy and paste adaptation like I’ve seen in many previous plays turned into films. In the samples available here, you can see how I ventured to keep to the spirit of the play, but allow for the story to take new shape as a film. One of the main differences you may notice is that the play takes place almost exclusively in the childhood bedroom of the brothers, while the film travels a bit further abroad to give us more perspective on the world around these characters. There is also more use of silent action in the film - more easily utilized as it is a visual medium.

When Quinn and Susan visit his childhood home for the holidays and find themselves snowed in with his disapproving mother and maladjusted older brother, the skeletons in Quinn’s closet threaten to destroy not just their relationship, but Quinn himself.
